Conceived by Michael Walline, with Contributing Artist Zak Ward, in association with MusicalFare Theatre.

A world premiere musical featuring the music and lyrics of Paul Simon, LATE IN THE EVENING is the story of a man who is guided in his dreams through a journey of love, loss and remembrance with unforgettable characters, insightful lyrics and beautiful dance.  Conceived, directed and choreographed by Michael Walline (ZOOMA ZOOMA, FAMILIAR STRANGERS) and featuring actor/musician Zak Ward (BUDDY, RING OF FIRE), LATE IN THE EVENING highlights the masterful storytelling of one of America's greatest musical icons.

The running time of the production is approximately 2 hours, 5 minutes, including intermission.

Presented by JazzBuffalo and MusicalFare Theatre: Alexis Cole is a dynamic American Songbook singer who has been hailed as “a rising star in the Jazz World” by Hot House Magazine and called “Exquisite” by the New York Times.   She has performed in celebrated NYC venues such as The Carlyle, Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center and The Blue Note and has been a soloist with the Boston Pops and Detroit Symphony.

Presented by JazzBuffalo and MusicalFare Theatre: Italian singer/songwriter Chiara Izzi was awarded 1st Prize by Quincy Jones in the 2011 Montreux Jazz Festival Vocal competition.  Chiara’s sound is based on her own unique interpretation of a fusion of different genres, including jazz, pop and Mediterranean sounds.  She will be joined by pianist Kevin Hays about whom The New Yorker declared “There are plenty of talented pianists…but few have Hays’s melodic charms and sense of style.”

When blind date newbie Aaron is set up with serial-dater Casey, a casual drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious high-stakes dinner.
