Testimonial from previous intern, Madelyn Goldberg:
"My MusicalFare internship was very informative and I gained a lot of insight as to just how important the “behind-the-scenes" people are to the production of a musical. Whether it was attending weekly production meetings or taking photos of the costumes, the small part I had in this production was influential not just to the production, but to my understanding of what goes on behind the production. I was able to be on book for the actors, take pictures for the costume crew on the “costume parade” day, and even record my voice for a short line in the show! While I don’t intend to go to college for theatre, I am currently an active performer and I’m always interested in fueling my passion for the art of musical theatre. I learned so much from this internship and I would highly recommend that anyone interested in any part of the musical process, whether it's acting or otherwise, try this out. Not only did I learn about the “behind-the-scenes” aspects of the show, but I also was able to pick up tips from watching the actors perfect their roles throughout the rehearsal process. This internship is so valuable for people with a passion for the theatre and a curiosity for what goes on in every part of a production."
Testimonial from previous intern, Artemis Doyle:
"My MusicalFare stage management internship was informative and inspiring! During my time here, I produced my own paperwork; talked with the stage managers, designers, and director about their processes; and helped out in every way possible. Whether it was helping put the final touches of the set together, answering the actors' questions, or just filling in when a stage manager was absent, I believe I got a well-rounded education from my experience. I learned a lot from the production team, especially when it came to my paperwork and how to do some of the tech aspects in a show, as I have not done either before. With this being my first real experience in stage managing and working in a professional theater, it was very inspiring and eye-opening to see how places outside of a school setting produce theatre. This internship has helped me with my next steps in becoming an assistant stage manager for an upcoming production at my school. I hope to keep using this experience's lessons with me when I pursue more internships and theatre jobs in the future!"
