For 35 years, MusicalFare Theatre’s Act I has been a beacon of creativity, storytelling, and community in Western New York. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to announce a once in a generation opportunity that will elevate our productions, expand our reach, and reignite the heart of downtown Buffalo’s theatre district, cementing the region’s status as a vibrant center of arts and culture. Leadership, vision, and expertise are all exemplified in MusicalFare’s Act I accomplishments. These qualities will take MusicalFare’s Act II to an unprecedented new level by the company’s bold move to Shea’s 710 Theatre, the former Studio Arena, in October 2025.
• MusicalFare has enjoyed exceptional success and growth in the current space at Daemen University, but with the continuing growth of the organization’s goals, there have been limitations to the size and scope of possible productions at this location.
• The current building has a 136-seat mainstage and 97-seat cabaret with no feasible options for expansion.
• Current building size presents limited production and technical capabilities, with outgrown office spaces, maximized scene and costume shops and storage, and smaller rehearsal room.
• Daytime programming and educational opportunities are impossible due to University scheduling conflicts and location/parking difficulties.
• Moving to a new, yet familiar, theatre venue to house MusicalFare’s annual seasons that will increase the square footage onstage, offstage, and also the backstage areas including a scene shop, costume shop and storage, and dressing rooms, increased stage height, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment.
• Expanded seating capacity to 550 seats
• Opportunities for daytime performances and more for educational and community outreach programs.
• High-profile new location for MusicalFare in Buffalo’s theatre district in association with Shea’s 710, allowing prominent visibility downtown with centralized access for patrons throughout Western New York and the greater area.
· With this new home, MusicalFare will be a cornerstone of stability and creativity, helping to revitalize downtown Buffalo and making Shea’s 710 a hub of artistic excellence once more.
In addition to producing on its main and cabaret stages in the Daemen Theatre building for over 3 decades, MusicalFare has also been thrilling audiences for the past 11 years at Shea’s 710, continuously raising the bar with ticket sales and production values. MusicalFare will now be stepping onto the larger stage at 710 as the resident theatre company. Imagine the excitement of regular, high-caliber productions in one of Buffalo’s most iconic theatres sustained throughout the year, season after season.
The move marks not just a new location, but a new era that will support MusicalFare’s ascent to regional theatre status as it becomes as well-known regionally and nationally as it is locally. In the spirit of the legendary Studio Arena, which once defined Buffalo’s theatre scene, we aim to reestablish Shea’s 710 and MusicalFare as a vibrant centerpiece of cultural life in the city. We will be working closely with Shea’s but maintaining our own independence and artistic vision. Overall, this impact creates a solid regional theatre presence that advances the region’s notoriety and access to the arts for the greater community and population, putting Western New York and MusicalFare’s ‘name on the map!’

Our vision is clear: nearly 100 performances a year in a five-show season, as well as after-show music on Friday and Saturday nights and special cabaret engagements, bringing consistent, year-round activity to the theatre district. We will continue to embrace the MusicalFare Experience by engaging audiences in intimate and unique performances while becoming a regional and tourist destination for patrons and visitors eager for high quality, transformative musical theatre. With this new home, MusicalFare will be a cornerstone of stability and creativity, helping to revitalize downtown Buffalo and making Shea’s 710 a hub of artistic excellence once more.
